Beyond the Textbook

Our scholars not only learn to speak English like native speakers because they are taught by native speakers, but much of the time they don't even realize their English is rapidly improving. This is because we teach a wide variety of topics ranging from art history to natural disasters and storytelling to the solar system, just to name a few.

Our teachers get to know each student well and take the time to focus more on the topics that are of special interest to the individual learner. While we do work with a book and PowerPoints along with offering homework and tests to measure each student's progress, our program provides some flexibility to customize each learning experience. Instead of memorizing lists of words, our scholars learn by doing, and the skills they develop carry over into many diverse areas of study.

In almost every lesson students will practice conversational skills,  read out loud, and answer questions. We also use a variety of audio and video clips to check for understanding and start discussions. Plenty of new vocabulary words are taught along with some grammar and phonics. Our teachers naturally provide consistent feedback when it comes to pronouncing words correctly. We work hard to ensure that students find our lessons fun and engaging.
