Trilobites and Skyscrapers

Teacher Andrew and his student, Andy, have a lot in common, in addition to their names. They both love science. Most lessons end with a bit of extra practice from the workbook. Andy hasn’t touched the workbook in quite some time. One week the extra practice is coming up with an oral report about fossils - trilobites were Andy’s choice. The next week it is all about skyscraper design. Volcanoes were a topic of recent interest, so hopefully a video involving baking soda and vinegar will come out soon.

While having a solid method to rely on provides valuable structure and stability, we always enjoy the sparks of connection between teacher and student that lead to interesting detours and creative opportunities.
